Assistant Attorney General – Civil Litigation Division

The Office of the Attorney General, Civil Litigation Division, has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Attorney General in Montpelier.  The position involves conducting all aspects of litigation in state and federal court, including discovery, motion and trial practice, and appeals.  The attorney will handle an active caseload concentrating on the defense of tort actions, civil rights and other constitutional claims, and statutory matters.  

Candidates must be members in good standing of the Vermont bar with at least 5 years of relevant litigation experience and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

This assistant attorney general position is an exempt full-time position. Salary and benefits will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the Attorney Pay Plan.
