Landlord Restoration Program Goes to Barre

June 19, 2018

At the Aldrich Public Library, Assistant Attorney General Justin Kolber and representatives of the Vermont Department of Health talked with Barre-area landlords about the importance of maintaining lead-safe rental properties. The meeting, held on June 19th, was the Landlord Restoration Program’s fourth community meeting.

Vermont’s housing stock is among the oldest in the nation. More than 70 percent of homes in the state were built before 1978 and are presumed to contain lead. The Landlord Restoration program was announced in September of 2017 and is designed to help landlords comply with Vermont’s lead safety laws.
