Following Attorney General Donovan’s direction to engage with the communities we serve, the Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Division spent December 18th volunteering at the Good Samaritan Haven in Barre.
The Good Samaritan Haven is central Vermont’s only homeless shelter, providing housing and services for people experiencing homelessness in its community. The shelter offers supportive services for all guests including housing and employment assistance, case management and referral services, assistance obtaining mainstream benefits, financial support to lease or maintain a unit and essential good support.
The Environmental Protection Division attorneys and paralegal helped at the Good Samaritan Haven by sorting donated clothing, moving boxes, helping to thaw frozen items, hanging seasonal decorations and baking hundreds of cookies for the residents.
We were very happy to have this opportunity to help in any way we could, and especially appreciated the Good Samaritan Haven for allowing us to do so at this time of year. We look forward to coming back again soon!
