Opioid Settlements

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office has been fighting to end the opioid crisis and hold industry participants accountable for their roles in promoting and profiting from the opioid epidemic.

As a result of Vermont Attorney General’s efforts, both individually and together with other State Attorneys General, 2021 settlements were reached against the three largest pharmaceutical distributors, McKesson, Cardinal Health and Amerisource Bergen (“Distributors”), and drug manufacture Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and its parent company Johnson & Johnson (J&J).
