The Legal Unit for the Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) represents DOC in civil and appellate litigation in state and federal courts. The bulk of their litigation is the defense of civil legal claims filed by inmates. The unit may also represent the Department before the Board in parole revocation hearings.
